If you are someone like me working a 9 to 5 job and also Affiliate Marketing after work and weekends then you probably know the importance of being organized. I've figured some things out in the last week or so that I thought I would share. Mostly concerning emails and the wasted time you consume on all of the messages that bombard you everyday.
A couple of years ago I decided to make another email account that I was going to use only for accounts that I payed bills to. I thought it was great idea and if I would have stuck to that plan all would be good lol but at some point I decided to incorporate all of the different investment newsletters I signed up for and now a couple of years later it is just another email account with sooo much stuff coming into it that there isn't enough time in the day to go through it all. Up until a couple months ago when I started my Affiliate Marketing journey I would just scroll through quick every day and see if anything jumped out at me. I would definitely miss important stuff on occasion and that isn't a good feeling sometimes.
Now I have even more emails coming in concerning my new business and increasingly harder to sort through everything. I've spent the last week in my free time doing a complete cleanse of my email accounts starting with unsubscribing to any and all people that were not contributing directly to my current situation. I could not believe how many different subscriptions and newsletters I had signed up to over the years. I've deleted thousands of emails after sorting them by name and prioritizing. The thing that probably has helped the most for me though is making separate folders inside the email account to move emails to as they come in and that way when I want to spend a certain amount of time on something I can go straight to those emails. No more scrolling and searching for the important ones. I have also tried to send everything concerning my Affiliate Marketing to my blog email with categories and folders setup for traffic, receipts, social media ads etc.. I have been able to cut the time I spend on emails considerably and now I also get way fewer popup notifications distracting me when new mail comes in. Win ! Win !
